Sweet Heat BBQ Jackfruit Tacos
BBQ season just got sweeter with this recipe for Sweet Heat BBQ Jackfruit Tacos!
Jackfruit is a large tree fruit with a subtle flavor and a meat-like texture that is commonly used in South and Southeast Asian cuisines. Due to the size of the fruit (some reach 120 pounds!), you will typically find jackfruit canned or frozen.
It's the perfect plant-based substitute for pulled pork or chicken, and takes on the flavor of whatever you spice it with. In this case, we’re spicing it up with Oaktown Sweet Heat BBQ Rub, a unique blend of paprika, lemongrass, chiles and sugar. Pile this jackfruit into tacos, burritos, or on your favorite salad for a flavor-packed meat alternative.
