Mulled Wine
Nothing says holiday cheer like mulled wine! When living in Europe, I would count down the days until Christmas markets began, and mulled wine was on the menu. This recipe for mulled wine is made simple with Oaktown's Mulling Spices, the perfect blend of spices for wine, apple juice, or cider. I like to add orange liqueur to my mulled wine, but feel free to omit, or add a splash of apple juice!
Ingredients
- 1 bottle dry red wine

1 tablespoon Oaktown Spice Shop Mulling Spices
- ¼ cup orange liqueur
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
Directions
- Combine the wine, mulling spices, orange liqueur, sliced orange, and sugar in a large pot.
- Simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes - 1 hour. Be careful not to let it boil!
- Strain, discarding the mulling spice, and orange slices. Add additional sweetener, if desired.
- Serve with sliced oranges and cinnamon sticks.
