Chicken Salt
Chicken Salt is the condiment Australians put on everything – especially hot chips (aka fries). Despite the name, there's no poultry in sight. It's a savory, umami-forward seasoning blend that lands somewhere between garlic salt, onion powder, and a really good bouillon cube.
We created ours in collaboration with Oakland Roots and Soul SC as part of a food celebration welcoming the Socceroos to Alameda this summer for the World Cup — giving Australia a taste of home, and giving Oakland something new to reach for. Ours layers in yeast extract, MSG, paprika, caraway, celery seed, and a few other savory heavyweights for an Oakland twist on a Southern Hemisphere classic. Limited edition. Gone July 31st.
