White Peppercorns, Whole

White pepper has an earthy, musty flavor. Traditional French cuisine calls for white pepper in light-colored sauces and dishes for aesthetic reasons. Today, chefs use white pepper because of its distinct flavor. Mature peppercorns are soaked in water to be husked and then dried in the sun to create these white, cream label peppercorns.
