We’re excited to announce that we are opening a second location of Oaktown Spice Shop this year! We signed a lease last week on a space on Solano Avenue in Albany, with a goal of opening this fall. 

As part of our mission to offer the freshest, most delicious, high-quality spices and hand-mixed spice blends in the Bay Area, we’re creating a second outpost so we can better serve home cooks in Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito and Richmond. We believe everyone can benefit from having a neighborhood spice shop close by.

And in case you’re wondering, we are still committed to our home on Grand Avenue in Oakland. Our first shop isn’t going anywhere!

It’ll take us a while to get the new shop off the ground — we plan to build a second production area to blend and grind spices in the back. Fingers crossed, we’ll open sometime this fall.

Thanks to you, our wonderful customers, for supporting us from the start and helping us get to this point. After five years of running the shop, we’ve learned some valuable lessons about what works (and what doesn’t). We feel we have all the elements we need in place to expand: a great team, steady growth and enthusiastic customers who love to tell their friends about their local spice shop.
