    I’ve been making this paste since I took the class at Oaktown Spice shop.
    The instructions are FLAWED. Doing it this way makes it gritty.

    Heat the oil gently. Then add the spices and let them bloom. Then add hot water. We were taught to whisk for 10 minutes which I’ve been doing, but the quantities are much larger. I let sit for 5 minutes as we were instructed and mix with Manuka or my local honey. By mixing rather vigorously, it makes an emulsion and helps preserve the paste. I store in a sealed glass jar in the fridge.

    My morning drink is 1/3 coconut almond milk, 2/3 water and 1-2 tsp of the paste. It’s enough milk to be creamy without all the calories. I believe that the first thing we put into our system in the morning should be healthy and I love this drink.
