When will my order ship out?

We are currently shipping orders 2 to 4 days after they are placed. Delivery takes an additional 1-4 days. Unforeseen carrier conditions may cause actual delivery dates to vary.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Orders of eligible refill bags of spices ship for $5. For other orders we offer flat rate shipping of $9. 

Do you ship internationally?

At this time we ship within the United States only. 

What shipping method do you use?

We primarily ship via USPS Priority Mail, which takes 1-3 business days after we ship. 

What if my house or apartment does not get delivery from USPS?

Please send us an email at info@oaktownspiceshop.com as soon as possible after placing your order.

Can I order by phone?

We cannot currently process orders for shipping over the phone. If you need help placing your order, please email us at info@oaktownspiceshop.com.

What if my order is a gift?

If your purchase is a gift, please write a note on the cart page where it says "add a gift note to your order." Your note will be printed on the packing slip, which does not include prices. (Please sign your note, as our packing slips do not include the sender's name!)


What are the current COVID-related protocols when shopping in person?

Masks are not required. Please do not open the bags or jars to smell or taste the spices. We are selling all of our spices in prepackaged jars and bags in the sizes available on our website (no made-to-order custom sizes or refills). We are accepting cash payments. 


How do I place an order for pickup?

After you have made your selections and added them to your cart, select “Store Pickup” and choose either Oakland or Albany. Then, select your pickup day and complete your payment. Orders placed by 2:45pm will be ready for pickup that same day.

Can I order by phone?

Yes! We can take orders by phone between 10am-7pm in Oakland and Albany. 

How do I pick up my order when it's ready?

Please come at your scheduled day and time, or anytime after you receive an email that your order is ready. Our Oakland and Albany shops are open from 10-7pm. When you arrive, let us know the first and last name of the person who placed the order and order number, and we will grab your order for you. For everyone's safety, we ask those with symptoms of respiratory illness or fever to refrain from picking up orders. Thanks!

I forgot something. Can I add to my order?

If you would like to order additional spices, you can either place another pickup order online or purchase additional items at the time of pickup.

What if I miss my scheduled pick up date?

Please come another day to pick up. We are open daily from 10am-7pm in Oakland and Albany. 

Is everything at the shop also available online?

Our inventory is a bit limited right now. What we have online is what we currently have available to order. Thanks for your understanding.

Why do I have to enter a pickup address for a pickup order?

As long as you select the Oakland or Albany shop at checkout, we will know where you plan to pick up. Unfortunately, the address fields are a required part of the checkout process with the system we use. However, don't worry! No matter what you put here, if you selected your store pickup, we will have all the info we need.


Do you offer special pricing for restaurants and foodservice customers?

Can I return an item?

All online spice sales are final (see notes about t-shirts and totes below). But if your package arrives broken or you aren't completely satisfied, please email info@oaktownspiceshop.com and we will get right back to you.

What is your return policy for t-shirts and totes?

Returns and Exchanges can be processed on unworn, unwashed t-shirts and totes if we are contacted within 14 days of receipt. Please reach out to info@oaktownspiceshop.com. Returns and Exchanges must be shipped to us within 14 days of receiving a return label. Once received, we will process store credit. A $5 restocking fee will be deducted from this total. Free returns and exchanges can also be processed in one of our retail locations within 14 days of receipt.

How do I redeem my gift card?

Gift cards can be used on any item in our online shop. To use a gift card online, just enter your gift card code at checkout. You'll see an option to add "Discount code or gift card" beneath the order summary. If you don't use your whole gift card on one order, the remainder will be kept on the card for you to apply to your next order. 

What precautions are you taking to protect against COVID-19?

We have reinforced our existing training on effective handwashing and using personal protective equipment and we have increased our sanitation procedures in our shops and production areas.

Staff members who are sick will stay home from work. All of our staff members receive sick pay.
