Come join us and learn how to make Sukbakji Kimchi (mixed Napa cabbage, radish & other seasonal ingredients) at home! Selina will be demonstrating the art of kimchi making and fermentation process. There will be a cooking demo and little bit of hands-on experience for you as well. You can take home the kimchi made in class along with an essential Oaktown Spice Shop kimchi spice kit! Selina will also be serving delicious Korean bites like savory veggie mung bean pancakes, multigrain rice balls and sample kimchi to taste (all vegetarian friendly dishes).
About the instructor:
Selina S. Lee is a professional cook and recipe developer based in Oakland, CA. Besides developing recipes and sharing them online, she hosts a cooking workshop called Banchan Workshop, which is a series of Korean cooking classes that focus on cultured cooking and pickling techniques. She has hosted many workshops on kimchi, Korean street food, and Korean home-cooking basics like rice, noodles and soups & stews.
